I work in the Cellular Biophysics research subgroup, examining intracellular dynamics of pancreatic beta-cells. I image live cell insulin granule movement in monolayers and pseudo-islets and extract three-dimensional microtubule extracts for future studies of insulin granule movement ex vivo. This work emerges from an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Scherer lab and Louis Philipson's molecular biology lab in the KCBD.
